The Mayors Wellness Campaign Spread Message at the 2010 League of Municipalities Convention

The Mayors Wellness Campaign (MWC) once again participated in the annual New Jersey State League of Municipalities Conference at the Atlantic City Convention Center, November 16 – 18. The theme of the conference is “Planning the Road Ahead.” The award-winning conference is the largest annual gathering of municipal officials in the nation.

Our Booth was located in the 100 aisle lounge area (all the way to the RIGHT as you enter the convention floor).
MWC Panel Session*
Entitled A Successful Mayors Wellness Campaign: It “Takes a Village,” our League panel session was hosted on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 3:45 – 5:15 pm in Room 313 of the Atlantic City Convention Center.
Dr. Jaime Torres, Region II Director of the US Department of Health & Human Services, joined our panel “A Successful Mayors Wellness Campaign: It Takes a Village.” Dr. Torres discussed First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” initiative and their partnership with the Mayors Wellness Campaign. Joining us via pre-recorded video was author and HealthCorps Ambassador Daphne Oz. Mayors Frank DelCore, Bill Curtis, Scott Spitzer and Dana Redd rounded out the panel.
MWC Reception* (invitation)
Our annual Reception was held on Wednesday, Nov. 17, immediately following the panel session from 5 – 7pm in Crown Ballroom 2 of the Sheraton Convention Center Hotel (adjacent to the convention center). Our special guest speaker was Dr. Jaime Torres, Region II Director of the US Department of Health & Human Services. Reception attendees received a copy of Daphne Oz’s national best seller “The Dorm Room Diet.”
The annual League conference was a unique opportunity to meet & mingle with NJ’s municipal officials and attended over 100 sessions, panels, and workshops on the hottest municipal issues.
