Executive Director, Joetta Clark Diggs Sports Foundation
Author & Motivational Speaker

It is my honor and distinct privilege to have been named as a Mayors Wellness Campaign Spokeswoman starting in 2011. I am excited to support, invigorate and enhance the Campaign as we continue to enroll more New Jersey Municipalities in an effort to Put Our communities in Motion.

As a 4-Time Olympian, I have often been described as the epitome of athletic fitness, focus, and fearlessness. However, what is not
well known is that my athletic and academic success started at a very young age and continued for over three decades. Today, I see a very different picture, with our youth. It seems that, too often, academic excellence, athletic involvement and community services have taken a back seat to many of the current day distractions.

These observations caused me great concern. Consequently, in 2002 I formed The Joetta Clark Diggs Sports Foundation, Inc. which is committed to teaching good health and positive work ethics, life skills, participation in sports, and the introduction of the many interesting opportunities for girls and boys in the sports and entertainment industry. The Foundation believes that we must continue to provide hope and solutions as we address the inactivity and health concerns with our youth.

Therefore, I am pleased to partner with the Mayors Wellness Campaign in joining the mission of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move
Campaign to raise public awareness and provide solutions to the obesity epidemic with our youth. I look forward to meeting you and
providing effective, fun and safe programs in your town.

Until we meet, I would like to provide you with some tips for staying healthy during the winter. Remember it is never too early or
late to take control of your health, because “Fitness is Fun”!
