What is the Mayors Wellness Campaign?

The mission of the Mayors Wellness Campaign is to equip mayors and other key leaders with the tools to develop and implement active-living initiatives in their communities with the ultimate goal of improving health and reducing the skyrocketing health care costs that come with the obesity problem in New Jersey.

Bernards Township has been selected as the community partner of the Mayors Wellness Campaign to receive a wellness grant to hold the second annual Toxic Waistlines Competition beginning June 1, 2010. Winter Edition of the Wellness Voice newsletter available for download.
Independence Township was selected to receive the first Mayors Wellness Campaign grant awarded in New Jersey. The township was chosen for the $1,000 grant during the annual League of Municipalities conference in Atlantic City in November. Full Release

For the past two years, Ms. Littman has worked as first an intern and then Director of Research and Programs at the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute. (read more)
